It has been quite a long time since I stay over Serdang and I realised that Clay Pot Chicken Rice is commonly found in Serdang & Seri Kembangan area. You can get this food over some 茶餐室 or restaurant. After some time on food exploration, I finally found one at Serdang Raya which provides more than Chicken Rice.

My most favourite clay pot food at Foong Lian was the Clay Pot Assorted Waxed Meat Rice (腊违饭) - RM16.00 (small). It comes with 5 type of waxed meats (腊肠,腊鸭,桂花肉, etc) and sprinkled with spring onions. You may order for extra salted fish or egg. I realised that each of Foong Lian Clay Pot rice has different taste. I personally prefer this waxed meat rice. The fragrant rice served with delicious meats, simply delicious! yeah~

Some of our bloggers prefer the Clay Pot Prawn Rice (虾饭) - RM25 (small), which made of fragrant white rice, prawn (明虾) and special seasoning. Not only the taste, it was decorated with a beauty of its own. For those who love eating prawn, you may try on this! The prawn was fresh and the shell was removed during the preparation. Hehe!

If you love chicken, you may try on the Clay Pot Chicken Rice (鸡饭) - RM7.50. An ordinary clay pot chicken rice mixed with some waxed sausages. It is best to serve with salted fish. The saltiness works well on this dish.

Apart of Clay Pot food, Foong Lian also served us the Clay Pot Pepper Pig's Tribe Soup. The soup was good and the pig's tribes were tender and easily bite! I would prefer if it can be more spicy/peppery! Suddenly think oh mum-cooked one~ haha! XD

Happy Wok Taiwan Delicacies in Seri Kembangan, Selangor

Happy Wok Taiwan Delicacies, is home to all delighting Taiwanese & hospitality! Foods are made daily from the freshest ingredients to bring consumer's taste buds on a joy ride. Mdm Sandy (owner) of Happy Wok, a pretty Taiwnanese lady who decided to open this restaurant because she not used to eat Malaysian foods.

The restaurant is located at Taman Serdang Perdana (beside South City Plaza), Seri Kembangan. They practically served quite a variety of rice, noodles and steamboat. One of their most recommended food is the Squid Soup Rice. A flavourful and thick soup, which served with minced chicken, stewed egg, reserved vegetables. One taste and you would know the squid soup has been prepared skilfully. Simply awesome! =D

Besides, you could choose the Braised Beef Rice Set (RM14.90) or Fried Pork Ribs Rice Set (RM15.90) as your main course. Dessert (Red Bean with Barley Pearl Jelly), Fruits (Watermelon) and Drink (Black Tea) are included in any Rice/Noodles Set. The braised beef was juicy and chewable. The pork ribs was less oily with just the perfect flavours in it.

Oh ya~ Happy Wok always serve foods in healthier way compared to the others. They serve fruits (2 slices of watermelon) before your main course and dessert at last. The rice sets are normally served with stewed egg (half) and lots of fresh vegetables and fruits, such as long bean, broccoli, tomato and seasoned bean curd. They looks mouthwatering, right?

The next dish was Minced Chicken Noodles (RM7.50). Although a bit spicy, this savory noodles would sure pleasant your day. Don't be cheated by it's appearance, the chillies are all at the bottom part. LOL! =P

Happy Wok also serves variety of steamboat, such as original, vegetables, kimchi, seafood, vegetables, beef, mutton, healthy herbs, and Taiwanese hot & spicy steamboat. These steamboat ranging from RM13.90 to RM16.90. We have chosen the Healthy Herbs Steamboat (RM16.90) and Kimchi Steamboat (RM16.90). Both steamboat are guaranteed good for you health! Kimchi are nutritious and good for your stomach always (due to the fermentation process that favour the growth of beneficial bacteria). As a meaty lover, both these steamboat seem not really suit for me. However, if you love greens, mild favour & hot foods, you should pay a visit to them!
*1st and 2nd photo are the healthy herbs steamboat. 3rd is Kimchi~~~

As for snack, you might try out their Yan Soo Chicken (RM6.00)! It was fresh, tantalising and aromatic~ The meat was tender and without skin. Mdm Sandy said they had removed the skin during preparation. I guess it was the most voted snacks by our review team! =D

Apart of Yan Soo Chicken, we were served Jiufen Mixed Taro (RM5.90) and Red Bean & Barley Pearl Jelly (RM3.90). Now I only realised that I wasn't manage to tried the taro balls. Who was the one finished them? Stand out! =P
*Dear pearl lover, Happy Wok always serves you generous amount of pearl! LOL!

Our Drink includes Wintermelon Green Tea (Right), Juicy Peach Coocut Jelly Juice and Black Tea (Left)!
Love the black tea. Simply good with the sweet after-taste ~ Peach Coconut Jelly is Ka Yin favourite! Wintermelon Green Tea is recommended by the owner. It worth a try! =)

This is normal scene of our bloggers gathering & review! We make new friends, enjoy sharing from owner, review foods and take photo~ =D

Fontana Cafe and Catering in Taman Equine, Seri Kembangan, Selangor

Fontana Cafe & Catering with the slogan "Catering to every moment that counts", was our first reviewed restaurant at Serdang. It was an exciting and happy night, as I get to taste different foods and know one new friend! We were served with Ostrich Burger, Haiwaian Chicken Burger, Chicken Chop, Nachos and Fontana Special Drink. Slurrpp~

Fontana Cafe is a simple yet clean Western restaurant with Australia feels, which located at Jalan Putra Permai, Taman Equine Seri Kembangan. If you drive from Jalan Besar Seri Kembangan, turn right when you reach a traffic light where Jusco is at the right hand side. Take second exit of a roundabout and keep straight. You will see a McDonald (landmark) and Fontana Cafe is located at the next shop lot.

We started with 3 big burgers, which are Fontana Burger (RM10.10), OZ burger (RM15.40) and Chicken Hawaiian Burger (RM15.40)~ Fontana offers different types of exotic patties such as Rabbit, Venison and Ostrich. If you do not goes well with these exotic meat, you may choose chicken or beef.

We have chosen the Ostrich Burger! This big burger was large enough for the consumption of two guys! Fontana Burger (RIGHT) was served with potato chips. The burger was made of harshbrown, ostrich patties, cheese, tomato, lettuce, mayonnaise. While, the OZ Burger (LEFT) has additional layer of turkey(or beef) slices & beetroot and without harshbrown~

These patties are all handmade in order to guarantee great flavours every time, according to Kak Riza (owner of Fontana). Different ingredients are added for marination, depending on the type of meat. The ostrich burger is flavoursome and good! Although it has some flavor of "ostrich" which tastes quite similar with lean beef, the burger was worth a try! =D
The cheesy & juicy Hawaiian Chicken Burger with a hint of sweet & sour (pineapple & spread)is just to my liking! yummy~

Oh, ya~ As Kak Riza told me, the ostrich meat is low in cholesterol. After my research over Google, lol, it is true. Many sites are saying it is low in fat and cholesterol. I guess because ostrich are thin and exercise (running) more than the others. =P

Fontana Chicken Chop was also nice as the batter is different from the others. It has a slight lemon taste in the crispy coat and the meat was tender! =)

Meal of The Day!
Nachos with Chilli Con Carne (RM14.30)! Nachos is a popular Mexican snack based on nixtamalized corn, that made of tortilla chips and covered with salsa. In Fontana, Nachos are served with beef salsa, chilli, tomato, red bean and etc. It made me falling in love with Nachos! Haha! =P The salsa worked very well with the chips. Big thumbs up~

Fontana Speciality (Smoothies) (RM13.80) is a special drink that created by 8-12 years old children during the Fontana opening. These drink have special name and different combination of ingredients. I have ordered the Whattime Cruz, which is full of strawberry milk. It taste better when drink in cold.

Fontana do provide many choices of teas. You can choose to have lavender tea whenever you felt stress. Kak Riza have prepared us Billy Tea. She shared some history & information of Billy Tea. However, the night was so informative (Learnt so many about the Australian and Western food), I forgot the Billy Tea history. =P
I just remember that the tea is mild and smooth! Wakakaka~

Let's guess what was Steven playing there~ haha!

Kak Riza showing her food restaurant certified by Ms. Majell Hind, who representing the Consul-General of Australian High Commission. (LEFT) Kak Riza met her husband (Fontana) when she was studying in Australia. She started learning about Australian cooking from her husband (Australian) family there.
Jamal Steven Fontana! The very shy and handsome guy, one of Kak Riza children. (RIGHT)

*Waiting for group photo

You may pay a visit to Fontana Cafe & Catering when you are craving for Western Foods, freshly prepared handmade burgers and Nachos!!!
