Shabu-Shabu House in Selangor

After some food reviews around Serdang, it's is STEAMBOAT turn now! We, in a team of 9 were hunting foods at Shabu-Shabu House at Pusat Perdagangan Seri Kembangan (Sri Penang), Selangor!!! (Raining didn't stop us from the bloggers gathering) Yeah~~~

BTW, I realized that many customers were glaring and staring on us when they see we taking out camera and shooting on foods. (even after some blogging reviews at Serdang).
Shabu-Shabu House is modern, clean and comfortable place to bring your friends and family to enjoy gathering and chatting. With the air conditioning system, it makes steamboat dinner a rather enjoyable affair.
For RM29.00 nett per adult, you can have variety of ingredients to swish in the hot pot. You will need to order pork, lamb and venison from the person in charge. Others ingredients such as clams, cuttle fish, squid, scallop, meat ball, mushrooms, corn, tomatoes, vegetables, noodles and etc can be taken from the rotating conveyor.
Three choices of soup base which is light broth, tom yam and milk base are available. We have our own favourite of soup choices there, majority love tom yam and light broth.

For me, fresh ingredients and tasty soups are very important for steamboat buffet. I have been going Shabu-Shabu House, and it was good! I love the cheesy taufu the most. Here's are some of the photos: More photos at W.S.W.H Photography and Joo Kim.

Among all, I enjoyed this clam with Tom Yam Soup the most. Many of this was huge and fresh. Yet, we were discussing the benefits of clam toward guy~ LOL!!!

Well, clams are surprisingly high in iron. They are rich in minerals (phosphorus, potassium, zinc, copper, manganese and selenium), Omega 3 Fatty Acids (heart healthy fats), etc.

Fried foods will be delivered by waiter (not on conveyor). They have fried wantan, mantou, sesame glutinous rice balls, fried roll (purple colour), etc. The fried roll was very crispy, nice (sweet potatoes maybe?).
As for the dipping sauce, they have about 10 options. Among all the condiments, I enjoyed the cheesy sauce the most. yummmy~ (Btw, it seems not really worth if eating cheese there, right? =P)
Met with 周思潔 there. It was so sudden! (BTW, all leng lui there~) XD I consider Shabu-Shabu House is a place worth visiting, especially for gathering with friends over a relaxing meal. =)

Zen Garden in Selangor

Zen Garden, a newly opened restaurant located on top of a hill at Taman Cuepacs Equine that serves Chinese foods and Thailand's Mookata style barbecue.
It is decorated elegant with adequate spaces yet simple wood tables. Zen Garden definitely giving off a casual and nice dining vibe that good to bring friends and family to enjoy there~
Various of fresh ingredients such as prok belly slices, beef, lamb, chicken breast, meat balls, prawns, fish stomach, fish slices, fish noodles, and vegetables are available. Choices of soup base include tom yam, yellow wine and fish bone (RM14.90 each).

There is four choices of set that you can enjoy them either by steamboat or bbq. Those sets are Beef, Pork Belly Slices, Lamb and Seafood (RM49.90). The portion was large for few people sharing.
Mookata means "Pork BBQ", where big size of lard (pink) is rubbed over exposed metal surface to barbecue the delicious meat. I tasted the Tom Yam Soup and I would prefer if it can be more spicy, more thicker and more sour~
Garlic Fried Rice is included in the set. It was my most favourite dish there. The fragrant egg works well with the garlic. Yummy~
Apart of the Steamboat and BBQ, you can choose to have Cheese Crab (Rm48). The crab was large and fresh, while the sauce is cheesy. The crab meat was sticky and I guess they were frying the crab before adding with the cheesy sauce (I wish it can be more cheesy =P). Thanks to the generosity of the owner, many of us were full and I managed to eat 2 crab +... Hahaha! =P
We tried the Fried Fish Belly (RM13.90) (LEFT) as well. Hmmm~ The fish belly was soft, chewy and veeeery spicy after taste! Yummy~
Salted Spicy Fish Skin (RM12.90) (RIGHT), a very crispy and additive snack foods that you shouldn't miss out. For me, this is one of the Zen Garden signature dishes.
Zen Garden did serve us Mooncake (LEFT) and Durian Pancakes (RIGHT). I was too focus in clearing the crab, so I missed out both of the dishes... =(
